Privacy Policy

Every Farm Stand (“Every Farm Stand,” “we,” “us”) is a free, community-built map that helps people discover local farm stands. We care about your privacy and keep the data we collect to a minimum. This policy explains what we collect, why, and your choices.

Information we collect

Information you provide:

• Email address — if you sign in to list or claim a stand, we use a passwordless “magic link” sent to your email. We store your email to identify your account.
• Stand listings and photos — information you add about a farm stand (name, description, address, hours, products, photos). This content is published publicly on the map.
• Suggestions — if you suggest a stand, we collect what you submit (stand details, an optional photo, an optional note, and an optional email so we can tell you if it's approved).
• Claim requests — if you request ownership of a stand, we collect that request and any note you include.

Information collected automatically:

• Approximate location — only if you grant your browser's location permission, used to center the map near you. We do not store your live location; coordinates are only saved when you deliberately place a pin to create or suggest a stand.
• Usage analytics — we use privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics (Vercel Analytics) to understand aggregate traffic. It does not use cross-site tracking or build advertising profiles.
• Log data — like most websites, our hosting provider processes technical data such as IP address and browser type to operate the site securely.

Cookies

We use a single essential cookie to keep you signed in after you use a magic link. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

How we use information

• To operate the map and show local farm stands.
• To sign you in and let you manage a stand you own.
• To review suggestions and claim requests before they appear publicly.
• To email you only about something you initiated — a sign-in link, or (if you provided an email) a note that a stand you suggested was approved. We don't send marketing email.
• To prevent abuse and keep the service working.

Service providers we share data with

We don't sell your personal information. We share limited data with vendors that help us run the site:

• Supabase — authentication, database, and photo storage.
• Vercel — hosting and cookieless analytics.
• Mapbox — maps, search, and address lookup. When you search or use the map, the related query or coordinates are processed by Mapbox.
• Resend — delivery of the emails described above.
• USDA Local Food Portal — we display public farmers-market data from the USDA; we don't send them your personal information.

Public content

Stand listings, photos, and details that are published on the map are public by design. Don't include anything you wouldn't want shown publicly.

Data retention and deletion

We keep information for as long as needed to run the service. You can ask us to delete your account and associated personal data at any time by emailing hello@everyfarmstand.com. Note that suggestion history may be retained in de-identified form.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example, under GDPR or California's CCPA/CPRA), you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal information, and to opt out of its “sale” or “sharing.” We do not sell or share your personal information for advertising. Children

Every Farm Standis not directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them.

Security

We use reasonable technical measures to protect your data, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We'll revise the “last updated” date above when we do.
